Ahead of the spring season, Boba Net Company decided to pull out of League of Legends eventually the team was acquired by their new sponsors GIGABYTE and Adonis Icyber Gaming and renamed to GIGABYTE Marines. With their roster containing Stark, Levi, Optimus, Slay, and Archie the team went on an unbeaten streak during the VCS spring season going 12-0 in the group stage and defeating Young Generation 3-0 in the final. This impressive result earned them a spot at GPL spring to represent Vietnam. Being a higher seed they qualified for the playoffs immediatly where the dropped 2 games against Kuala Lumpur Hunters but still secured the victory 3-2 to advance to the final. In the final GIGABYTE Marines proved to be the strongest team after sweeping, Thai's side, Ascension Gaming 3-0. With their first GPL title the team qualified for MSI 2017.
