FunPlus Phoenix entered League of Legends at the end of 2017, forming the roster of GimGoon, Y1HAN, Bing, Lwx and Crisp. The roster made their debut at the 2017 Demacia Cup, where they beat Black8 2-0 before losing against Team WE in a 2-1 fashion, resulting in the end of their first tournament in a 9-15th place. During the 2018 LPL Spring split, Cool joined the team halfway through the season to replace Bing. FunPlus Phoenix narrowly missed out on playoffs, with an equal record to Team WE at 4/-/5. In the 2018 Summer Season, FunPlus Phoenix made playoffs despite their 8/-/11 regular season record. In playoffs, they lost 3-1 against the eventual 3rd place team JD Gaming, resulting in a 7-8th place tournament exit.
